ok, I'm not normally the person who goes out and stalks celebrities. I don't stand in Times Sq with a sign jumping up & down on the medium hoping to get a live shot on TRL. I guess maybe because I live in NYC I see them all the time (let me clarify ...like once every 4-5 mths...not daily). I've seen David Duchovny walking hand-in-hand in front of my apt with Tea Leoni before they were a couple, I've seen Bill Murray a block away from Grand Central, I've seen Jerry Sienfeld at the next table eating brunch, I've seen Big (aka Chris Noth, but it's easier to think "big") talking on his cell in front of a union sq restaurant where I was having lunch. I know there's more...but you get the hint. The only exception was when I MET...not saw....MET IN PERSON the members of Duran Duran. I lost it then...when I saw Simon, I was 13 all over agin...but it was a meet & greet...that's what you do at a meet & greet.
Went to the ColdPlay concert at PNC with Lorena on Sat night (thanks to the VIP admission Randy & Dan!!!!). I loved our parking spots....if we parked anycloser, we'd be on stage.
last minute call from randy, and off I went to PNC.......it really was an AWESOME night to sit & sing outside "when the lights...go down...in jersey cit-y" (yes, I know I changed the lyrics, I do it all the time) It is amazing how much Steve Augeri looks & sounds like Steve Perry. Down to the booty shaking {{sexy!!!!}}
Girls night last night at a very cool place last night, "FUSHIMI", located on Amboy Road. The drinks were awesome (a must-try is the raspberry martini and the lechee martini) & the chef's specialty rolls rocked!!! Here is the yummy "Valentine Tuna"..... (yes, I had my camera phone on me)
Well.....I'm back from my Austin Texas vacation!!!!!!
Day two (Wed) I had a 10am appt with a headhunter. It went pretty well considering I fogot to bring a resume with me.
Next we went to lunch at TGIF and then we began walking around the east side (crossed over at the congress st bridge).
I was DYING of heat exhaustion. They might say that austin has "dry heat", but let me tell you - when it's 102 degrees outside, I don't care how dry it it....IT'S HOT!!!
On thursday ....hmmmm what did we do on thurs?????
OH YEAH - we met up with a real estate agent who showed us over a dozen homes in the LAKEWAY and WESTLAKE neighborhoods. One house really blew us away for under $300k - the home is close to 3000sf on .45acre of property and had a master bath larger then my current bedroom!!!!! Basically we're talking over a $750k home in jersey. We were drooling and ALMOST put a good faith deposit down right on the spot, but then I thought about it.....don't jump the gun without a safety net of a job.
btw....we're STILL thinking about the house :)
Friday we headed out to a property developer - Steiner Ranch which is located smack dab btwn Lakeway and Westlake Hills. It is an awesome brand new community with everything. The only thing that concerns Randy is that there might be too many strict rules of "cannot do" in this community. I dunno - I love the way the homes are set up....really really beautiful!
Oh - for lunch we visited Carlos & Charlie's and for dinner we visited Johnny Fin's (we were there for like 4 hrs!!!!!). Both are awesome marina bar/restaurants on Lake Travis that you can drive your boat right up to :)
On Saturday we took a Duck Tour around downtown austin that dumped us into Lake Austin...literally. One of the funniest thing about the tour was that we passed a few golf courses and the bus would wait for the golfer to get ready to using his club and then our entire bus would QUACK (a really annoying sound....I have the quacker at home and I'm not afraid to use it!!!!)
On Sunday we orig had plans to head to a water park, but I came down with a cold...so we slept in until noon and then we headed towards San Antonio. On the way we stopped to explore the Natural Bridge Cavern - really cool place, but with 99% humidity...at the end we were sweating!!!! First we visted the Alamo (whooo-hoooo)
On Monday (July 4th) we headed to the Schlitterbahn Water Park. We were soooooooo lucky that I felt crappy the day before, because we were told that all the rides had 3-4 hr wait lines. Not us....most rides were 15 minute waits (with 45 minutes being the longest). It was a great way to spend the day - except I burned the heck out of my feet (have I mentioned that austin is 102 degrees ALL DAY LONG!!!)
Flew home on Tuesday evening and headed back to work on Wed.
The Dave show was amazing....just an awesome concert as he always puts on. AMMMMMMAZIN!!!! We had killer seats (row AA in sec 7) and were sitting with a ton of WH people - so I knew they were fans. You know they are fans when they can identify the song when dave sings just one note ;) The exit out of the stadium was another story - absolutely horrendous. ICK. I started to get a heat headache by the end of the show, but it was really nothing big deal. I left my excedrin back at the hotel and didn't think it would matter much until we sat in a parking lot for over 90 minutes trying to exit the stadium. It was soooooooooo bad I let randy smoke in the car. The clincher came when some dipshit decided to permanently honk and I rolled down my AC window and screamed in my most excorsist voice "stop the honking...you're being an asshole". Let me tell you - this was once scary voice that came out :) By the time I got back to the hotel my fun evening of drinking and partying was a bust and I needed to suck back excedrin and sleep (ok, it was after 1am....but we wanted to party all night when the show ended at 11:30, yanno?)
Next day we headed over to Hersheyworld - YUM....tasted some new chococolates, baby!
Got home around 10pm-ish and relaxed.
